So the British press are going into their familiar vulture routine, circling the "corpse" while it's still sitting up eating breakfast. The predictions are rife.
Labour MPs are accused of propositioning researchers (historically) and fired - no comment. Conservative MPs are fired for the same offence and the government is about to fall.
Labour MPs make mistakes - no comment. Conservative MPs display the same human traits and the government is about to fall. Theresa May has a cough during her Conference speech and "she's finished!"
Truth is, the PM is in the strongest position she could possibly be. Tory MPs daren't rock the boat for fear of sparking a General Election. They also recognize the dangers of changing negotiators in mid-Brexit. Left to her own devices (some chance) she is actually doing a very competent job in extremely difficult circumstances.
So we take two points:
1) Be careful what you wish for.
2) Remember the words of Mark Twain. "Reports of my demise are somewhat premature.
